วัดนี้เป็นหนึ่งในเก้าวัด ที่มีชื่อเสียงในการทำบุญเก้าวัด ซึ่งเป็นวัดที่มีชื่อไทยที่มงคลค่ะ

This temple is one of nine famous temple in northern for make a merit. Thai favorite number nine because of it’s speak similar to step or advance meaning. This temple mean of ten thousand money temple and it’s the good meaning in Thai.

ประวัติวัดหมื่นเงินกอง

วัด หมื่นเงินกอง สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัยพระเจ้ากือนา (พ.ศ. 1882 - 1916) ซึ่ง เป็นกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่งในราชวงศ์มังราย หมื่นเงินกอง เป็นชื่อของมหาอำมาตย์ตำแหน่ง "ขุนคลัง" ท่านหนึ่งในรัชกาลพระเจ้ากือนา  เป็นที่เข้าใจกันว่า มหาอำมาตย์หมื่นเงินกอง หรือ ทิดเมธัง ผู้สร้างวัดเมธัง และ วัดช่างลาน เป็นผู้สร้างวัด "หมื่น เงินกอง" เพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์ยศถาบรรดาศักดิ์ที่ตนเองได้รับ ต่อมาชาวบ้านทั่วไปเรียกว่า วัดมะยมกอง แต่ก็มีชื่อที่รู้จักกันทั่วไปว่า วัดหมื่นเงินกอง ตราบเท่าทุกวันนี้
Meunngenkong temple

This temple named by obsolete title noble rank call ‘meunnguenkong’ He was treasury duty noble in King Gouna reign of mengrai dynasty(1882 – 1916 BE.) He built this temple for commemorated his noble rank. Meunnguenkong or Tid Metang (Tid use for call a guy whom use to be a monk) This guy also built Metang temple and Changlan temple. The follow day people call Mayomkongtemple but today well know Meunnguenkong temple name.

วิหาร โครงสร้างหลังคาเป็นเครื่องบ้านแบบโบราณ สังเกตได้จากการเข้าไม้แบบล้านนาโบราณจะไม่ใช้ตะปู แต่จะใช้ไม้แทนตะปูค่ะ และไม้ก็จะใช้ไม้เนื้อแข็งเช่นไม้สักเพราะมอดไม่กินค่ะ ภายในวิหารด้านบนเพดานเขียนลายคำ

Vihan structure upper is steak wood structure. It’s old style of northern structure that used a wood as a nail to build the structure. And always use hard wood as steak wood for structure because of weevil can’t bite it. Inside decorated the ceiling from golden paint northern style.

ประวัติการสร้างพระวิหาร

วิหาร วัดหมื่นเงินกอง เป็นวิหารโบราณกึ่งตึกกึ่งไม้ จะสร้างมานานเพียงไหน ใครเป็นนายช่าง ไม่ปรากฏประวัติ เข้าใจกันว่ามหาอำมาตย์หมื่นเงินกอง และ ภริยาลูกหลานเป็นผู้สร้างในรัชสมัยพระเจ้ากือนา

ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ.2502 พระ ครูศีลสังวร เจ้าอาวาสขณะนั้น พร้อมทั้งศรัทธาร่วมกันบูรณะ โดยมีนายสม ฤทธิ์ปัญจะ นายคำแสน อุปวรรณ์ นายพวง สุภาราษฏร์ นายตั๋น แก้วมูล เป็นนายช่าง ใช้เวลาบูรณะ 3 เดือน ก็แล้วเสร็จ



ปี พ.ศ. 2532 พระครูมงคลสิริวงศ์ เจ้าอาวาสพร้อมคณะกรรมการวัดได้พิจารณาเห็นว่า วิหารได้ชำรุดทรุดโทรมลงไปมาก ควรได้รับการบูรณะอย่างใหญ่หลวง

วัน ที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ.2532ได้ เริ่มประกอบพิธีบูรณะปฏิสังขรณ์ มีนายดวงดี ฤทธิ์ปัญจะ นายบญศรี ณ.เชียงใหม่ นายสุรสิทธิ์ อินต๊ะวัง นายประสิทธิ์ เพียรผล นายหนิด ขันหาญ พร้อมคณะ เป็นนายช่าง

มี นางสมศรี วังทองคำ นางตวงรัตน์ โกเมศ ร.อ.อ.สุขุม สิงคาลวณิชย์ นางเหรียญ+นางฉลวย สมบัติสุข นางจันทรา โพธิมา และ คณะศรัทธาทุกคนอุปถัมภ์

ทำพิธียกช่อฟ้า วันที่ 3 เมษายน พ.ศ.2535 มีพระธรรมปัญญาบดี เจ้าคณะภาค 7 เป็นประธาน
ปอยหลวงวันที่ 5 เมษายน พ.ศ.2535
สิ้นทุนทรัพย์ 3,000,000 บาท (สามล้านบาท)
รวมบูรณะ 3 ปี 1 เดือน 27 วัน

About Vihan (use for calling the main building for people and monk to make a merit and ceremony just like church of Christian) built by classical technique cement base and wood upper structure. No sign about history or the time of built it. Guess Muennguenkong built it. 8 Feb 2532 BE. Meongkolsiriwong the abbot of this temple and buddist that shown the name on the sign donate money to restored. 

3 เมษายน พ.ศ.2535 has the ceremony for celebrate the elongate and elaborate carved apex of the gable of a Buddhist temple.

New temple building big ceremony at 5 April 2535 BE. This building used money 3,000,000 bt.  total restored time 3 years 1 moth 27 days.

ประวัติการสร้างวิหาร ซึ่งเป็นตัวอย่างของวัดที่ดีในการจารึกประวัติการสร้างสิ่งปลูกสร้างแต่ละชิ้นภายในวัด

กุฏิ ไม่ทราบว่าสร้างเมื่อใดเพราะไม่จารึกประวัติการสร้างไว้ แต่ตั้งใจว่าจะไปเยือนวัดอีกครั้งเพื่อไปสอบถามค่ะแต่ตอนนี้ยังไม่พร้อมจะ ออกเดินทางไปใหนเพราะต้องใช้ตังอยู่อ่ะ ต้องประหยัดมั่กๆ ใช้อย่างอื่นมะได้เรย

The sign of the base of  Vaihan of this temple is the good for temple to record the history that not often in Thai temple. I would like every temple in Thailand record every history of building in the temple for the follow generation can understand the history of the building I was visited there several months ago but really want to back for interview the history of the other building inside but I have problem financial.This problem have been made me stop travel or take a picture for months and can’t go anywhere till I have money enough to go.

เจดีย์พระธาตุแปลกกว่าที่อื่นตรงที่นำพระเครื่ององค์เล็กๆ มาประดับบนเจดีเล็กๆรอบฐานเจดีย์เจดีย์ใหญ่ค่ะ สวยไปอีกแบบค่ะ

The pagoda very strange than the other temple. They used a lot of Buddha images decorate a small stupa on the base of big pagoda. I think it’s kind of beautiful.

แผ่นจารึก อ่านได้ใจความว่า

นาย ท่า ทิพโพธา ได้บริจาคทรัพย์สร้างอุโบสถวัดหมื่นเงินกอง ตำบล.พระสิงห์ อำเภอ.เมือง จังหวัด.เชียงใหม่ สร้าง 15 มีนาคม พ.ศ.2503 เสร็จ 31 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2507 การสร้างสิ้นทุนทรัพย์ 25,700 บาท

ขออุทิศกุศลให้นางหลาน ผู้เป็นภรรยาที่ตายไป
ทำบุญฉลองวันที่ 15-16-17 มิถุนายน พ.ศ.2508 ตรงเดือน 6 ขึ้น 13-14-15 ค่ำ

 บริเวณวัดมีโรงเรียนด้วยชื่อว่าโรงเรียนเทศบาลวัดหมื่นเงินกอง

Inside the temple contain the school of  municipality name Tedsabalwatmeuankong mean the municipality school meunkong temple.
